It was a great thing to be able to flush it out of your system. To be able to go out and redeem yourself was very important for us. You would feel sorry for the lads who don't have that opportunity. Galvin is in his final season as an U21 hurler with Clare, knowing that every game in the grade could be his last. The Clonlara dynamo, 21, has won Bord...

With two All-Ireland quarter-finals taking place over the weekend - the meetings of Limerick and Wexford and Tipperary and Dublin in Thurles on Sunday - there were plenty of candidates for the GAA.ie Hurling Player of the Week. Both were very one-sided games, but managed to produced some exceptional individual performances.Given Limerick defeated Wexford so comprehensively, it is unsurprising that one of TJ Ryan's charges came out on top. Shane Dowling topped the vote on our official Facebook and Twitter pages, but he faced...

Monday 28th July, 2014

GAA.ie Hurling Team of the Week: There were two big games in the Hurling Championship over the weekend, with Limerick, Wexford, Tipperary and Dublin all in quarter-final action in Thurles on Sunday. Lots of players distinguished themselves in the two games, but who has made this week's GAA.ie Hurling Team of the Week? It wasn't an easy task to pick our Team of the Week. And remember, some players may be picked in positions they didn't necessarily line out in on the match programme. Disagree with our selection?...

GAA.ie Player of the Week Nominations GAA.IE HURLING PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEES Shane Dowling (Limerick) The Na Piarsaigh man is in the form of his life and hit a quite incredible 2-8 in Thurles, 2-4 of which came from play. Dowling's double dart of goals just before the break killed off the Wexford challenge for good, while he also set up David Breen's major with a brilliant catch and flick on the turn under intense pressure from the Wexford defence. Breen reciprocated for Dowling's first, while RTÉ's Man of...
