County minor hurling blitz a great sucess   14/03/2012

After a very successful two day County minor hurling blitz's in which the County board ran before the start of the county minor hurling championship on 30th March. The final day which was held on Saturday 10th in Rathkeale saw the 12 aside and 15 aside finals taking place. In the 12 aside finals which was held between 11am to 1.30pm saw Feohanagh/Castlemahon taking the honours and winning the A section following victories over Knockaderry and Ballybricken/Bohermore and drawing with Castletown/Ballyagran in the B 12 aside Templeglantine got the better of Adare, Kileedy and Fedamore to win out the B section. In the afternoon at 2pm the 15 a side finals took place also at Rathkeale were Mungret were two points better than Blackrock to win the B final while in the A final Ahane after a tough encounter and some great hurling with Bruff came out on top with a one point victory 0-05 to 0-04 all these finals were ten minutes a side and on a glorious day in Rathkeale hurling was the winner for all players and supporters, to enjoy a great day, many thanks to the referees who were on duty on both days and to the hurling blitz committee for running a great hurling tournament.
