City G.A.A. Board Notes
The starting date for the City G.A.A. Board championship and leagues were finalised at last Monday evenings board meeting. With a full attendances of City delegates the board secretary Eamonn Phelan went through all fixtures for the coming season, first up was the final of the Nolan Motor Factors Un.21 hurling final which will now take place on Saturday 24th of March between Michael Cusack's and Kildimo/Pallaskenry at 4pm. In the D.J. Daly team flag Ireland senior hurling championship the semi finals will take place on Saturday March 31st when Patrickswell will face Ballybrown and Kildimo/Pallaskenry will meet Na Piarsaigh. In the Morrison's bar & lounge senior football championship semi finals were Monaleen will face Claughaun and Na Piarsaigh will take on St. Patrick's will go ahead on Tuesday April 10th While in the Nolan Motor Factors Henry St. the Intermediate hurling championship the quarter final between Mungret and Ballybrown will take place on Tuesday March 27th with the semi finals fixed for Saturday April 7th the Limerick Post Newspaper intermediate football championship will open on Tuesday April 3rd when Claughaun and Na Piarsaigh will clash. The Naughtons Fuel & Oil Annacotty minor football championship will now get under way Tuesday July 3rd with Mungret facing Michael Cusack's while Kildimo/Pallaskenry will have a bye. The opening rounds of the Morrison's bar & lounge Ballysimon Road junior A football league and Patsy Nicholas bar Gerald Griffin St. Junior B football league will take place on Thursday April 19th While the opening rounds of the D.J. Daly Champion Hurley's Pallaskenry junior A hurling league with take place on Saturday 5th of May with Mungret home to Old Christians and Crecora entertaining St. Patrick's in group (1) while in group (2) Patrickswell will host Ballybrown and Kildimo/Pallaskenry will travel into Na Piarsaigh. .The Horse & Hound bar Mulgrave St. Junior B hurling league will now go ahead on Sunday May 6th with the opening games of Claughaun home to Ballybrown and Crecora home to Monaleen. The opening rounds of the Patsy Nicholas bar Gerald Griffin St. junior A hurling championship between Kildimo/Pallaskenry v Patrickswell, St. Patrick's v Ballybrown and Crecora v Old Christians while Na Piarsaigh will have a bye will take place on Saturday 23rd of June while the opening rounds of the Horse & Hound bar Mulgrave St. junior B hurling championship were Claughaun will be at home to Ballybrown and Mungret will host Monaleen this championship will start on Sunday July the 8th at 12 noon. The Limerick Post Newspaper junior A final will take place on September 18th between Monaleen and Kildimo/Pallaskenry and the Limerick Post Newspaper junior B football championship will kick off on Tuesday July 24th when Crecora v Na Piarsaigh, Claughaun v St. Patrick's and Mungret v Patrickswell while Ballinacurra Gaels will have a bye. The final fixture of the year will be the J.J. Kenneally Wickham St. Un.21 football championship when St. Patrick's will take on Kildimo/Pallaskenry on October 6th with the losers with the losers taking on Monaleen on October 13th Congratulations to the Mungret minor hurling team that won the county minor hurling blitz division two last weekend in Rathkeale when they defeated Blackrock in the final. The next board meeting will take place on Monday 26th at the Woodfield House Hotel Ennis Road at 8pm.
