Our under 10 training continues on Friday evenings at 8.15 pm in CBS Sexton Street. In addition the under 10's took part in the opening day of the Street League played in Rhebogue. Our under 12 had a very busy weekend when the under 12 hurling squad welcomed Pallaskenry/Kildimo to Rhebogue for a hurling challenge match. The Saints battled strongly against a strong visiting side and showed a lot of heart and skill throughout the match. At the end the visitor's strength showed and they ended with a comfortable win. Some notable performances for the Saints with Jack Walsh and Cathal Keogh in defence, Travis Quaid in midfield and Billy Power and Diarmuid Hegarty in attack. Training for this squad continues every Saturday at 3pm in Rhebogue. The under 14 Gaelic football squad travelled to Pallasgreen in their Feile Gaelic match on Sunday morning. The Saints were missing a lot of players and began the game lively with a well taken goal. Both Pallasgreen and St Patricks battled hard in the first half with the home side going in at half time leading 3-03 to 1-00. Our young players stepped up in the second half and outscored the home side as they came forward in wave after wave of attack seeking the win. Despite a huge effort from the Saints, the game finished 3-03 to 2-01 to Pallasgreen. Many thanks to all players that showed up on the morning. With many players still to come back into the squad we should be stronger for the league and championship. On the day we had good performances from Richard McMahon, Darragh Ryan, Conal Broderick, Nathan Walsh and Jack Doyle. Man of the match for St Patrick's was Darragh Quilligan who was outstanding in defence throughout the game. The hurling street leagues began on Sunday afternoon last in Rhebogue. With 30 players turning up, the hurling got underway as players from the under 12 and under 10 squads played against each other in 5 aside games. The level of skill and determination showed by all players was great to see and many thanks to all players, parents and coaches for their efforts in getting the league up and running. At the end of play two sides remained unbeaten. The league continues next Sunday at 2.00pm in Rhebogue. New players are welcome to come along and join a team and enjoy the fun.
